This is a review after riding 500+ miles on this bike, and I swould say that I am in the “very experienced” category of ebike users. There are several topics to unpack, so I’ll just try to touch on the essentials here.Customer service: this I decided to put right at the top because Smartravel via Amazon is absolutely top-notch! They always have replied to me quickly, sent me replacement parts (of my own fault, nothing they sent me originally was faulty) in speedy time, and are friendly and helpful. I cannot say enough about their customer service, which is 20 out of 5 stars! They will not sell you a heap of electrified trash and disappear!Assembly: easy. If you can turn a wrench, are physically capable of riding a bike, and have a brain, you can assemble this easily by yourself.Packaging: it comes very well protected. No issues to address thereMechanical Components: although they are not mainstream components (Shimano or whatever), the components seem to be of very high quality and I have not had any issues with any of the components. I am very hard on my disk brakes because of how I ride, and I’ve had to replace the front brake pads so far. This is, of course, to be expected because that is just basic maintenance. They actually lasted longer than I would have expected, and replacing them takes all of 10 minutes. The left/right signals are a little hokey, but I understand why some people would want them. I never use them and am thinking of removing them altogether. I do love the brake light, it’s very useful when driving in traffic at night. The headlight is super high quality and bright enough to go full speed on a pitch black road at night. No complaints on components.Computer: the computer they use is actually very good. I have grown to love their computer best of the 3 e-bikes I currently ride. Simple, small and streamlined, and has a nice color display. Shows you everything you want to see on a computer like odometer, speed, etc.Battery: wow! There are two things I love about this battery. The first is obviously range and the second is how it discharges. I have noticed a very awesome aspect on this battery, and that is when it gets close to dying it still punches out great torque and speed until it fully dies. Most e-bikes discharge to about 20% and then acceleration and climbing torque both start to significantly decline, very noticeably. This bike definitely does go down a bit on lower charges, but it’s noticeably better than other e-bikes. Also, when you’re at extremely low charge levels, it still seems to last for many miles before fully shutting down. Absolutely love the battery.Tires: most excellent Chao Yang tires, after 500+ miles I’m only noticing a slight wear down of the nubs. They grip very well. I love the width of the fat tires and can’t wait to ride them in the snow (I’m in Utah)Suspension: I’m not hugely enthusiastic about the suspension, but it is right on par with every other standard ebike I’ve ridden. The rear suspension has a hand-tightened adjustment and it doesn’t seem to do much in terms of changing the tightness. The front forks are quite good. The whole suspension system gets 8/10 from me, but other e-bikes get that or lower from me and I’ve been on TONS of e-bikes.Seat/saddle: the seat is surprisingly comfortable, especially if you sit farther back on the rear end of it. One thing to note on the seat is this; on the indentation in the middle of the seat, the faux leather will separate from the foam when parked in direct sunlight. This truly does not matter, as when you sit back down on the seat it presses back into the groove and stays put. Like I say, this aspect truly does not matter aesthetically or functionally, but it does do that in high heat.“V” leather bag: pretty rad looking cargo bag. Does not store much more than a heavy duty bike chain, which you WILL need. Don’t leave this bike anywhere without lots of bike lock protection. Spend at least 100$ on a high quality heavy lock.Speed and performance: this bike accelerates quickly, climbs impressive mountain hills, and goes fast. On the performance end of the spectrum, I LOVE the way this bike handles! The geometry of the two tire placement and seating arrangement paired with the weight distribution on this bike makes you feel like you’re really able to handle tight grooves in roads and obstacles. I love the way it handles! If you’re used to riding a beach cruiser, you might need 20-30 minutes to become fully accustomed to it, but this bike is a high-performance technical rider! So much fun to weave in and out of trees, cars, obstacles, etc. Just plain fun!Cons and drawbacks: I don’t have many to mention here.-there are two types of throttles in the ebike world, the first type is a throttle that will go full speed regardless of pedal assist level, and the second type is the one that will only accelerate to the max speed of the current pedal assist level. This bike is the second type. I don’t love that. I like to be ab...
